Conference
The annual PWEA Conference&Exhibition is the largest industry event in Central and Eastern Europe. The last year’s 11th edition attracted more than 1,300 participants from Poland and abroad. Fifty-five Polish and foreign exhibitors presented their offer on 2,500 m2 of exhibition space. The event features 12 thematic panels with more than 50 speakers.
Until now the only the issues directly related to the wind energy industry were discussed. The purpose of this year’s PWEA Conference&Exhibition, entitled “Wind energy – relaunch”, is to apply a broader look and join the discussion on the optimum energy mix for Poland, where different renewable energy sources may effectively support the operation of the National Power System while boosting economic growth and innovativeness of the Polish economy. The progress in renewable energy technologies we are currently facing will soon lead to the so-called grid parity – a situation where the price of electricity from RES will be equal to that produced from traditional sources. The development of energy sector based on locally available renewable sources, for instance within the clusters introduced by the Polish government, is an opportunity to substantially increase energy security of our country and to contribute to a number of economic, social and environmental benefits. In particular, we would like to demonstrate the ways the huge potential of renewable energy sources may be used, and what conditions have to be met to make it happen.
